Welcome to HAUS CLAXTON

Haus Claxton overlooks the Millstatter-see, which is the deepest and warmest of Carinthia’s bathing lakes, and offers a host of options for holiday guests.  A walk or cycle around the lake affords beautiful views all the way, with lots of delightful cafes and restaurants dotted along the way.  A pleasure boat runs between spring and autumn, stopping at various points on the lake – this also takes bicycles.  A wide variety of watersports are available, including swimming, sailing, kayaking, diving and water-skiing.  For a small charge the Sittlinger Restaurant situated alongside the shores of the lake is a great place to base yourself to enjoy swimming, sunbathing and equipment hire for lake activities.  Their ice creams are delicious, so don't forget to try one when you visit!  Other hotels also offer use of their lake-side grounds for holidaymakers, for a small charge.  For the more adventurous there is also a climbing wall that leads down to the lake! 

 

A visit to some of the other lakes in the region is well worth the trip – Ossiacher-see, Worther-see and Weissen-see are all beautiful and offer their own unique sights and experiences.
